Wynston Pennybacker – holder of Fulbright U.S. Student Program at K-PNU

Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University is pleased to welcome American researcher, Fulbright Scholar Wynston Pennybacker, who will conduct research and assistantship at the Department of English language at the Faculty of Foreign Philology of K-PNU for 10 months.

Referring to the Fulbright Program in Ukraine, it is an international technical assistance program implemented by the Institute of International Education on the basis of a grant from the United States Department of State. The program is aimed at the exchange of specialists between Ukraine and the United States, the development of education and science, as well as raising the professional level of teachers in higher education.

Wynston Pennybacker arrived at Ohiienko University on a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) and research program.

On a sunny Sunday morning, October 10, we organized a sightseeing tour of Kamianets-Podilskyi for our American guest, accompanied by Iryna Melnyk, Ph.D. in Philology., Associate Professor of Department of English language.

On October 11, Wyn was welcomed by the Office for International Cooperation and the Department of English language. Wynston’s official meeting with Alla Marchyshyna, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Head of the Department of English language; Alla Khoptyar, Ph.D. in Philology, Associate Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Philology, Tetiana Storchova, Ph.D. in Pedagogy, Associate Professor of English, Head of the Office for International Cooperation grew into a friendly conversation of old friends.

The excursion of our guest to the educational and scientific laboratory of ethnology under the direction of Valerii Shchehelskyi was extremely valuable.

So, there will a lot of interesting English-language classes, conversation clubs, workshops for successful students of Ohiienko University.

We sincerely believe that international cooperation within the Fulbright Program will be productive, and the experience gained will be qualitatively applied in the future!
