We are glad to announce that Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohienko National University has become a participant in the second cycle of the project «Teaching and Learning Excellence», implemented by the British Council in Ukraine in partnership with the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Advance HE (Great Britain) and with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.

Project goal is to improve the quality of higher education in Ukraine by developing the institutional capacity of Ukrainian universities to improve teaching and learning.

With the implementation of the Program, the following results are expected to be achieved:

  • Creation of a national platform for professional discussion and exchange of best practices for teaching excellence.
  • Formation of a network of teachers and managers, ready to implement changes and exchange effective practices for teaching and learning excellence both in their own university and between Ukrainian universities.
  • Support for universities in the implementation of institutional projects for teaching excellence.

Program Structure

The program consists of two components: for academics and for managers – heads of structural units responsible for teaching and learning excellence, quality assurance, developing an institutional strategy/professional development program for academics.

The component for academics involves learning the latest approaches to teaching and learning in higher education. The main Program goal is to motivate and inspire participants to use student-centered approaches in their own teaching practice, to share knowledge and experience among colleagues.

The component for managers focuses on the development of institutional teaching and learning strategies and the creation of centers to ensure the systematic professional development of teachers in Ukrainian higher education institutions.

Over the course of three years (2019 – 2023), 30 Ukrainian universities are planned to participate in the Program.

Congratulations to the participants of the project «Teaching and Learning Excellence»:

– Hennadii Besarabchuk, Head of the Educational and methodological center for Quality Assurance of Education;

– Tetiana Storchova, Associate Professor of the English Language Department of the Faculty of Foreign Philology;

– Andrii Khoptiar, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Economics;

– Nataliia Mieliekiestseva, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Methods of Primary Educationof the  Faculty of Pedagogics;

– Oksana Pochapska, Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism.

 

The team members will take part in all the planned activities, to be started on July 5, 2021. They will be trained by British trainers, demonstrate the active use of online resources on the Program’s learning platform, and will receive a certificate that will confirm their professional development. In addition, team members will implement the “OHIIENKO-DEH” project at their alma mater, aimed at increasing the level of digital competence of academic staff and all those who are willing.
