A New International Project at K-PNU: FUTURE4CHILD as part of the Nansen EDU 2025 programme

We are pleased to announce that Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University has won the Nansen EDU 2025 programme competition for Ukrainian higher education institutions, organised by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills.

The project ‘For the future we want: Renewal of Early Childhood Teacher Education in Ukraine and Norway’ (FUTURE4CHILD) will be implemented by Ohiienko University in collaboration with Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and Dragomanov Ukrainian State University.

The overall objective of the FUTURE4CHILD project is to strengthen and develop the activities of higher education institutions in Ukraine and Norway by enhancing the capacity of two Ukrainian and one Norwegian university, as well as their academic communities, for international cooperation in the field of knowledge. The project aims to facilitate the exchange of best academic practices, deepen knowledge about Ukraine, and strengthen solidarity in teacher training in Norway.

Main objectives of the project:

  • to enhance the competencies of academic and teaching staff in research, innovation, and teaching activities;
  • to improve the quality and relevance of teacher training programmes at Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University and Drahomanov Ukrainian State University;
  • to develop new and improve existing educational programmes in the field of pre-school education for Ukraine and Norway;
  • to enhance the quality of digital learning through the implementation of two COIL learning processes;
  • to improve teaching practices through the application of active learning methods and the integration of education with research;
  • to develop a joint research project focused on exploring the origins of European educational ideas in the history of education in Ukraine and Norway, with student involvement;
  • to expand opportunities for young researchers to participate in postgraduate events and professional networks such as NORCHILD and the Research School of Early Childhood Education during academic mobility to Norway.

The project duration is three years.
