Opening of a memorial tablet to the fallen Hero – Ruslan Kozak at the K-PNU

A memorial tablet to the father, son, warrior, and hero Ruslan Kozak, who died bravely defending Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence, was unveiled at the Ivan Ohiienko National University of Kamianets-Podilskyi.

Parents, friends, relatives, teachers, and students came to honor the cherished memory of a talented student who gave his life defending Ukraine in the fight against the forces of evil and unrelenting Russian aggression. His spirit is stronger than fear, and his hope will last for generations to come. He was and remains the angel who protects our sleep. Let us honor and remember a true patriot, a hero of our country, a courageous and righteous Ruslan Kozak.

The attendees laid flowers at the memorial tablet and honored his memory. Ruslan was posthumously awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of the City”. The hero received the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd Class, which is awarded to military personnel for the impeccable performance of military and official duty, and for the valor and honor displayed in doing so.

Head of the Department of Journalism, PhD in Philology, Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language Liudmyla Marchuk shared her memories of Ruslan. She said that he was a bright and kind person who could not stay away from defending his homeland in 2014 during the ATO. Just as he could not in 2022 during the full-scale invasion.

Let’s look up to Ruslan because he was a brave man with a heart filled with love. As we pass by our university, let’s not forget to remember the heroes who gave their all for us.
