On March 5th, on the eve of the International Women’s Day, a grand cultural and artistic holiday “Miss University – 2019” took place in the City House of Culture. For the title “Miss University – 2019” ten students of the Ivan Ohiienko K-PNU competed:
- Kateryna Kovtunyak, student of the Faculty of History;
- Daria Zabecko, student of the Faculty of Foreign Philology;
- Darya Kelbuss – student of the Faculty of Physical Culture;
- Oleksandra Stoyanska – student of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism;
- Victoria Chobanyuk – student of the Faculty of Foreign Philology;
- Ruslana Mavdrik – student of the Faculty of Pedagogy;
- Maria Kontstenylo – student of the Faculty of Natural Sciences;
- Julia Melnyk – student of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics;
- Anna Barigina – student of the Faculty of Correctional Pedagogy and Psychology;
- Liana Polyovik – student of the Faculty of Foreign Philology.
The hosts of our holiday were Vadym Zdanyuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation and the Medical and Biological Foundations of Physical Education, Tetyana Biletska, Head of the Scientific Department, Mychaylo Bilyak, Student of the Faculty of History, Maxim Rezel, Student of the Faculty of Economics, Maria Gerley and Dmytro Kozak, students of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and journalism.
The event was held with the support of Sergiy Kopylov, Rector of the Ivan Ohiienko K-PNU, Volodymyr Melnychenko, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, and Mychaylo Simashkevich, Mayor of Kamianets-Podilskyi. Sponsors of the competition were:
women’s clothing stores “Lesya” and “Soroka. Be bright! “(Director – Olena Makarova);
creative workshop “Bozhena” (owner, embroidery master – Bozhena Filatova);
perfume and cosmetic company LAMBRE (agency of Kateryna Bureiko);

The competencies of the contestants were evaluated by a competent jury consisting of: Svetlana Starchenko, a member of the Supervisory Board of the University, the head of the Department of Education and Science of Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council; Alla Bablyak, a member of the Supervisory Board of the University, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Podolyanin; Volodymyr Sedin, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, leader of folk ensemble of dance “Gorlitsa”; Maya Pechenyuk, Head of the Department of Music Art, Professor; Elena Makarova, director of women’s clothing stores “Lesya” and “Soroka. Be bright! “; Bozhena Filatova, owner of the creative workshop “Bozhena”. The chairman of the jury is the art director of the international festival “Vaye de Mena” (Spain), choreographer of the international folklore festival “On the lands of Cantabria”, the head of the dance group “Gorlichka” Dmytro Nazarenko.
Participants competed in such contests: “Presentation (theme” Fairy Princess “)”, “Defile in embroidered clothes”, “Competition of Talents” “Defile in a business suit.” The designer of the show was Viktoria Saricheva, a student of the educational degree of the “master” of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism, the first Vice-Mini-Miss of the World – 2010.
The girls marveled at the jury with luxurious outfits, exquisite hairstyles, and stylish accessories. Beauty, tenderness, elegance, gracefulness – all of this merged together in our contestants. Smiles this evening have become must-have for each of the beauties. Throughout the evening, University students gave their audience their vocal, dance, recitation and artistic talents. The dancers of the dance groups “Apelsyn” and “Gorlitsa”, as well as the students of the pedagogical faculty Inga Mosolik and Diana Honchar, supported the enchanting contestants with their performances.

In the nomination Miss Smile, the winner was Julia Melnik, Miss Charm – Ruslana Mavdrik, Miss Tenderness – Anna Barigina, Miss Elegance – Liana Polovyk, Miss Grace – Victoria Chobanyuk, Miss Photo – Daria Zabecko , “Miss viewers’ sympathies” – Maria Kontstenylo.
Katerina Kovtunyak received the crown of “Miss University – 2019”, Olexandra Stoyanska, who became the “First Vice Miss”, won the second place, the title “Second Vice Miss” got Dariya Kelbuss.
Note that each of the contestants, in addition to a squall of emotions, applause and flowers, received a diploma and a present from the rector of the University of S.A. Kopylov, honorary diploma and money reward from Deputy V.V. Melnichenko and mayor of the city M. E. Simashkevich, as well as gifts from the sponsors of the competition.
The Organizing Committee has made a lot of effort to make this event a wonderful friendly atmosphere! Therefore, a special thanks to the Department of Educational Work and Humanities for organizing this incredible event!
