The partnership between Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University and the Catholic University in Ružomberok is a true example of successful collaboration within the framework of international programs.
From October 27 to October 31, two international academic mobilities were carried out under the EU Erasmus+ Programme, KA171 direction, in the forms of trainships and teaching.
Head of the International Office for Cooperation, Associate Professor Tetiana Storchova, completed a traineeship at the Office for International Cooperation and Mobility, which provided valuable experience in implementing academic mobility projects within Erasmus+, developing a university public relations strategy, and enhancing the buddy system in the context of internationalization and university promotion at the national level.
Several meetings were also held with representatives of the partner university’s faculties. In particular, a meeting with Dr. Martin Bereta, PhD, Associate Professor and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, opened new opportunities for partnership with the Faculty of Physical Education of the Ohiienko community. The meeting focused on prospects for joint research projects and the internationalization of educational programs.
Oksana Pochapska, PhD in Social Communications and Associate Professor, participated in the Erasmus+ Programme in the teaching mobility format and delivered a series of engaging lectures on “Frontline Journalism: Ethics, Responsibility, and Balance.” The relevance of the topic was highly appreciated by students majoring in Journalism at the Catholic University.
During their stay, Associate Professors Tetiana Storchova and Oksana Pochapska also took part in an event organized by the Department of Journalism in cooperation with the Slovak Office of the European Parliament. The distinguished guest of the event was Miriam Lexmann, Member of the European Parliament. Representing Ivan Ohiienko University at such a level marked an important step in expanding international dialogue. Particularly significant was the voice of Ukraine being heard in conversations with representatives of the European Parliament and leading Slovak media, including the well-known journalist and author of reports about Ukraine, Mirek Toda.
Friendly contacts with colleagues from the international departments of European partner universities always bring new ideas, inspiration, and joint initiatives. One of such partners and friends is Martin Pinkoš – a professional and open-minded colleague whose collaboration continues to inspire the development of shared educational and research projects.
This visit once again confirmed the long-standing cooperation between the two universities, which has successfully continued for over six years.
