Tourism and Hospitality Students Explore the Carpathians

On May 3–4, bachelor’s and master’s students majoring in Tourism and Recreation and Hotel and Restaurant Management, under the guidance of Associate Professor Olha Oliinyk from the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Management, organized an educational trip to the picturesque Carpathian Mountains.

Aspiring tourism professionals were especially interested in visiting the world’s only Pysanka Museum in Kolomyia, the Yosafat Kobrynskyi National Museum of Hutsul and Pokuttia Folk Art, the Ivan Ozarkevych Kolomyia Academic Regional Ukrainian Drama Theater, the Bukovel all-season resort, Yaremche, and even conquered Mount Makovytsia. Their main areas of interest included: exhibition practices, museum work, the organization of tourist trips, green and active tourism, wellness tourism, and the historical and cultural heritage of the region.

Young hoteliers and restaurateurs explored the operations of the “Hal-Prut” restaurant in Kolomyia, the “Nebokrai” guesthouse in Yaremche, and a family-run cheese dairy. They learned about craft production, tasting methods for artisanal products, the features of agritourism establishments, service practices in tourist city dining venues, and the presentation of ethnic cuisine dishes.

The friendly team of the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Management extends sincere gratitude to the Defenders of Ukraine for the opportunity to gain knowledge and organize educational journeys across our native country!
