On September 1, Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University solemnly opened its doors to first-year students who have taken another important step in their lives. Graduates of general secondary schools, vocational schools, and colleges of professional pre-higher education have now become part of the large academic family of Ohiienko University.
At the University, first-year students attended their introductory meetings, where they met the administration, faculty members, and student group coordinators, and learned about the educational process, the structure of faculties/institute, and the opportunities available in student life. Shortly afterward, the University bell rang, marking the beginning of the first classes.
The Knowledge Day celebration took place at the City House of Culture. A video greeting was delivered by Ihor Marchuk, Member of the Parliament of Ukraine (9th convocation), member of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Development, and Head of the Subcommittee on State-Business Interaction and Investments.
Warm words of congratulations and wishes for a successful academic year were also given by Mykhailo Positko, Mayor of Kamianets-Podilskyi; Dmytro Nazarenko, Deputy Mayor; and Valerii Odainyk, coach and lecturer at the Department of Sport and Sports Games of K-PNU, Captain of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and active serviceman.
Sincere greetings were presented from the stage by Acting Rector Hennadii Besarabchuk; Anatolii Hlushkovetskyi, Dean of the Faculty of History; Nataliia Bakhmat, Dean of the Faculty of Education; Nataliia Sheremeta, Deputy Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism; Alla Khoptiar, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Philology; Ivan Stasiuk, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education; Kateryna Heseleva, Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics; Tetiana Opaliuk, Dean of the Faculty of Special Education, Psychology, and Social Work; Ivan Semenets, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Economics; and Maksym Yeremeiek, Speaker of the Student Senate.
The festive program also featured musical performances by university students, who delighted the audience with their singing and instrumental music.
On this day, a new chapter of life began for our first-year students, a journey into the world of knowledge, discovery, and friendship, with Ohiienko University becoming their second home.
