On November 1, 2024, the National eTwinning Support Office – Ukraine, in partnership with the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine and Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University, hosted the training titled “Cooperation of Universities and Schools in International Projects of the EU Erasmus+ Program to Improve Teacher Training: eTwinning and CBHE.”
The training was attended by teams from 10 leading Ukrainian universities participating in the eTwinning Program. The sessions were led by Svitlana Kalashnikova, Coordinator of the National eTwinning Support Office, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, and Advisor to the Directorate of the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, and a member of the National Team of Experts on Higher Education Reform in Ukraine (HERE team).
K-PNU Rector Serhii Kopylov welcomed the participants, and Liliia Hrynevych, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (and former Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, 2016-2019), outlined areas for cooperation between higher education institutions and secondary schools. Additionally, Ihor Baluba, Head of the Expert Group of the Directorate of Professional Higher Education, presented strategic directions for teacher training.
Participants worked in teams, which included university faculty, eTwinning ambassadors in Ukraine, secondary school teachers, NGO representatives, and students majoring in Secondary Education from Ohiienko University. Under the guidance of Svitlana Kalashnikova, ten teams engaged in interactive sessions to brainstorm ideas, develop project designs, and understand application requirements for teacher training projects within the EU Erasmus+ Program’s CBHE projects for Teacher Education. In the fourth and final session, participants concentrated on designing CBHE projects aimed at enhancing teacher training and professional development.
Zhanna Talanova, Manager of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, and member of the National Team of Experts on Higher Education Reform, delivered an invaluable speech. Ms. Talanova also evaluated the project ideas presented by the teams and discussed prospects for creating consortia among Ukrainian higher education institutions.
The atmosphere at the training was exceptionally professional, creative, and warm.
Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University expresses its sincere gratitude to the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine (Zhanna Talanova) and the National eTwinning Support Office – NSO – Ukraine (Svitlana Kalashnikova, Liubov Shchitka, and Olena Lytovchenko) for their collaboration, as joint efforts are essential to advancing the internationalization of higher education in Ukraine and improving teacher training through international projects.
Ohiienko University was represented by the participants of the eTwinning Program: Hennadii Besarabchuk, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Relations, Tetiana Storchova, Head of the International Relations Department, Nataliia Mieliekiestseva, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Methods of Primary Education, Yuliia Troian, Program Ambassador in the Khmelnytskyi Region and English teacher at Lyceum No. 16 named after Volodymyr Kozubniak of the Khmelnytskyi City Council, Inna Puiul of Kamianets–Podilskyi Lyceum No. 9 named after A. M. Troian; and students of K-PNU majoring in Secondary Education.
