At the beginning of September 2024, first-year students majoring in Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business visited Kamianets-Podilskyi Castle as part of their course “Introduction to the Specialty.” During the visit, they explored the exhibitions, thematic displays, and tourist attractions. Andrii Khoptiar, Candidate of Historical Sciences and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business, also introduced the students to the specifics of tourist services and the work of guides at this important tourist destination.
It was important for future specialists to visit the Tourist Information Center (TIC), which the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Business actively collaborates with during practical classes, excursions, internships, and consultations. This collaboration helps students prepare for classes and write their diploma theses. The specialists introduced the students to various aspects of their work.
The main goal of such meetings with students is to convey to them that the TIC is a crucial tool for communication between the city and tourists, an assistant for everyone who wants to discover Kamianets-Podilskyi and start their adventures in the center of fortifications, sacred, cultural monuments – architectural masterpieces, as well as while getting acquainted with the work of the museum (Old Castle, Town Hall, Art Gallery, Museum of Antiquities, Exhibition Hall and TIC Kamianets-Podilskyi).
The staff of the Department of Tourism, Hotel, and Restaurant Business continues to collaborate with the Tourist Information Center. The TIC staff, in particular, emphasized their appreciation for the high-quality training and professionalism of the students—future employees of the city’s tourism industry—who are consistently trained to a high professional standard by the department and university instructors.
