The history of the Faculty of Physical Education dates back to 1949. For over 70 years, the faculty has trained plenty of highly qualified physical education teachers, trainers, physical rehabilitation specialists and physical therapists. Prominent athletes who represented and represent Ukraine at the Olympic Games, World and European Championships, European Games, Universiades and other international competitions were and are students of our faculty.
We are proud of the faculty members: V. M. Honshovskyi, V. B. Voronetskyi, V. V. Odainyk, A. B. Ladyniak, and V. L. Avinov, who defended and defend Ukraine with arms in hands.
Departments of the Faculty of Physical Education
The Department of Biology and Methods of its Teaching ensures the training of future biologists, teachers of biology and the basics of health. The Department provides training for such degrees of higher education as bachelor’s, master’s and doctor of philosophy degrees. To organize the educational process, laboratories of botany, zoology, anatomy, physiology and human health, general biological disciplines and classrooms are equipped. The teachers of the Department are candidates of biological and pedagogical sciences who have extensive practical experience in professional activity and are happy to share their knowledge and skills with students. Education at the Department of Biology and Methods of its Teaching includes interesting and informative lectures, practical and laboratory classes, exciting field practices, expeditions and excursions to the wild, scientific research activities. The Department of Sports and Sports Games has been functioning as a separate structural unit since June 22, 1981. Academic staff and support staff are constantly working on improving the educational process and implementing new ideas, projects, forms and methods for effective implementation of program learning outcomes. Over the last decade, students have shown tremendous results in almost all types of sports that function at the Department of Sports and Sports Games.
Academic staff of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation and Biomedical Foundations of Physical Education are focused on the current issues of training highly qualified specialists in the field of rehabilitation and the development of students’ professional competences. Under the direction of the department staff, problem groups members had repeatedly received diplomas and certificates of the II round of the All-Ukrainian Competition of Scientific Papers in the field of “Physical Education and Sports”, section “Physical rehabilitation”. Students take an active part in the All-Ukrainian student Olympiad in Physical rehabilitation, in scientific conferences of all levels. Industry experts note the high level of training of graduates and their competitiveness in the labor market of this field.
