The main focus of the Faculty of Economics is to educate experts in economics and management. Graduates are qualified to work as business and social administrators in state and local agencies, as business and finance managers, as executives and managers, and experts in public economics, tourism and hotel management.

The faculty provides instruction and research in economics in its accredited Bachelor’s degree programs: Economics, Accounting and Taxation, Management, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activities, Hotel and Restaurant Business, Tourism; in Master’s Program: Economics, Hotel and Restaurant Business, Tourism Science.

Research at the departments is focused on the following areas; empirical analysis and theoretical aspects of economic transformation process in Ukraine, effectiveness in the public sector, evaluating the effectiveness of the tax system, transformation of the financial sector in Ukraine, developmental tendencies in organizational structures and corporate management, use of human resources in companies, regional development and its economic aspects.

Faculty of Economics

The principal task of the Faculty of Foreign Philology is to train teachers for secondary education in its English Language and Literature specializations: study of 2 foreign languages (English – up to C1 level, the second foreign language – from the beginning to B2 level.  The Faculty regularly involves visiting professors (from Poland) to teaching professional disciplines, conducting master classes, special seminars and guest lectures.

In its German Language and Literature specializations teaching is directed not only at the developing of pragmatic competence, but also it takes into account the socio-cultural features of the community of the target language. The faculty develops cooperation with the British Council, the Goethe institute, the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) lectures and native speakers’ clubs and didactic workshops.

The faculty is involved in scientific seminars leading Ukrainian and foreign linguists, conducting special conferences and webinars.

Taking into account the internationalization of the educational process learners study both practical and theoretical subjects, engaging students into academic mobility program – Erasmus+KA107. It is gradually introducing a BA (English, German and Polish specialization)/MA model in Secondary Education and Philology Programs (translation program is included) (English and German).

Successful graduates obtain the Master’s degree. Degree programs include courses key subjects (practice of oral and written language, practical phonetics, practical grammar etc.)

The four-year Bachelor’s degree programs are completed with a final state examination. The one-year and four-month Master’s degree programs are completed with a final state examination that includes a defense of Master’s thesis. The doctoral study program usually lasts three years and is completed with a state doctoral examination and a defense of a Ph.D. thesis.

Faculty of Foreign Philology

As one of the oldest faculties of Kamianets-Podilskyi National Ivan Ohiienko University, the Faculty of History is a research-oriented institution providing university education closely tied to basic and applied research in historical studies (archeology, archive studies, history, information and library sciences, museology, auxiliary historical disciplines). The Faculty provides courses in human and social sciences (ethnology, philosophy, pedagogy, etc.).

The degree programs at the Faculty of History are structured in two different ways:

A four-year Bachelor’s degree programs: Secondary education (History), Secondary educations (History and Law Sciences), History and Archeology, Political Science;

The Bachelor’s programs are completed with a final examination that includes a defence of Bachelor’s dissertation.

A one-year and four months Master’s degree programs:

Secondary education (History), History and Archeology, History and Archeology (Archive Sciences), Political Science. The Master’s degree programs are completed with a final state examination that includes a defence of Master’s thesis.

The doctoral study program usually lasts three years and is competed with a defence of a Ph.D. thesis.

The highest level of study is represented by doctoral programs, which are fully tailored to the individual and concentrate on the independent preparation of the qualified experts.

The Faculty of History is successful in forming comprehensive, highly-educated personalities, future-oriented professionals, who are able to analyze the strategies of modern society development and the forecasts for humanity future.

The lecturers of the Faculty are able to develop learners’ research and leadership qualities, creativity, critical thinking.

Faculty of History

The principal task of the Faculty of Pedagogics is to train teachers for preschool education, primary school and for some special subjects at secondary school. The Faculty also trains Fine Arts, Decorative Arts and Restoration specialists.

In its teacher-training programs, the faculty is gradually introducing a BA/MA model. Graduates of the music and fine arts degree programs are also qualified to teach at basic art schools. More specifically, undergraduates are trained in the following areas:

Teachers for primary and for special subjects of secondary schools are trained for four courses. Successful graduates obtain the Master’s degree. Degree programs include courses on pedagogy and phycology, with the emphasis on the instruction in the mother tongue and a foreign language, mathematics, music, arts and natural science subjects.

The faculty also offers courses for those employed at various educational institutions and interested in broadening their qualification.

Faculty of Pedagogics

The main focus of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics is to educate experts in Computer Sciences, Secondary Education (Mathematics and Physics), Protection of Labour, Technical Creative Work.

The Faculty of Physics and Mathematics offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Bachelor’s programs offered are in Secondary Education (Mathematics): Mathematics, Informatics; Secondary Education (Physics): Physics, Technological Education and Informatics; Professional Education): Protection of Labour, Technical Creative Work Computer Sciences: Mathematics, Informational Technologies.

Master’s programs have two specializations: Secondary Education Mathematics, Informatics; Secondary Education: Physics, Technological Education and Informatics.

The teacher education program must be combined with at least one other major program. Typical combinations include mathematics and physics.

Research at the departments is focused on the following areas and knowledge in spheres, which are highly valued on the high-tech market: Mathematic Modeling and Applied Mathematics.

Faculty of Physics and Mathematics

The principal task of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism is to train teachers for secondary education in its Ukrainian Language and Literature specializations: successful implementation of linguistic education concept and Ukrainian ethnic pedagogy into philologist’s training process; optimal use of traditional and interactive teaching approaches; participation in scientific conferences, panel scientific tables, brain-ring, linguistic reading, debates, contests of creative works.

The Faculty teaches and trains skilled journalists for converged media (press journalism, online journalism etc.); implementation of authoring media project.

The Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism provides students with master-classes of famous experts in media from Ukraine and abroad.

Students and staff of the faculty may participate in academic mobility (ERASMUS+KA 107 Program).

The Faculty gives knowledge and practical skills in organizational management, design, communication, advertising and information, market research, analytical activities. Curriculum disciplines are connected with innovative advertising technologies, ability to implement personal projects.

The four-year Bachelor’s degree programs (specialization: Secondary Education (Ukrainian Language and Literature); Ukrainian Language and Literature+ English Philology (Ukrainian Language and Literature); Journalism; Advertising and Public are completed with a final state examination.

Successful graduates obtain the Master’s degree in specializations: Secondary Education (Ukrainian Language and Literature); Ukrainian Language and Literature; Journalism (Journalism).

One of the principle task of the Faculty of Natural Sciences is to train teachers of Biology and Geography for secondary schools: Specializations – Secondary education (Biology and Human Health), Secondary Education (Geography).

All degree programs at the Faculty of Natural Sciences are fully differentiated (with increasing specializations). Bachelor’s (double-subject) are more didactic and interdisciplinary, focusing mainly on basic sub-disciplines. Successful graduates obtain the Master’s degree program.

Master’s degree programs are more specialized and respond to students’ individual interests: Secondary Education (Biology and Human Health), Biology, Secondary Education (Geography), Geography, Ecology.

Research at the department is focused on the following areas: theoretical aspects, experimental and empirical analysis.

Faculty Natural Sciences

The main mission of the Faculty of Health, Physical Education and Sports is to educate experts in the area of Sports Studies and Human Health (Physical Culture, Mass Participation Sports, Physical Rehabilitation). The main task of the Faculty is to promote attributes of healthy life and sport culture literacy as an essential part of modern lifestyle.

One of the principle task of the Faculty of Health, Physical Education and Sports is to train teachers of Sport Training for secondary schools: Specializations – Secondary education (Physical Culture), Physical Culture and Sport (Trainer of Different Kinds of Sport). The Faculty prepares specialists in the area of Health Services (Physical Therapy and Ergo Therapy, Physical Rehabilitation).

All degree programs at the Faculty of Health, Physical Education and Sports are fully differentiated (with increasing specializations). Bachelor’s programs are more practical, based on didactic and interdisciplinary studies, focusing mainly on basic sub-disciplines. Graduates may continue with a one-year and four months at the faculty, leading to the Master’s degree.

The Faculty offers three Master’s degree programs, which specialized and respond to students’ individual interests: Secondary Education (Physical Culture, Mass Participation Sports Work and Tourism); Physical Culture and Sport (Trainer on Different Kinds of Sport); Health Services (Physical Therapy and Ergo therapy, Physical Rehabilitation).

The Faculty of Health, Physical Education and Sports is also an important research institution, focused on the basic research themes; Human Health, Physical Rehabilitation and Pedagogy of Sport Training.

Since the 1970s the Faculty of Health, Physical Education and Sports has been famous for international Sport achievements.

Thirteen golden, five silver and five bronze medals have been awarded to thirty-one students at the Olympic and Paralympic Games since 1972.

Three golden, two silver and five bronze medals – this is the performance of our students at the World Games.

Students repeatedly conquered World Championships and World Cups: eighty – first places, seventy-four – second ones and ninety-sixth – third places.

Most awards were given at the European Championships and Cups – one hundred and twenty-five golden, eighty-eight silver and ninety-five bronze medals.

An important competition for any university is the performance of its students at the World University Games. The medal achievements of our university include two golden, twelve silver and ten bronze awards at these competitions.

Students won one golden, two silver and five bronze medals at the European games. Two bronze medals were given to students at the Youth Olympic Games.

Faculty of Physical Training

The principal task of the Faculty of Correctional Pedagogics and Psychology is to educate and train specialists in the main fields of Social Work and Social Welfare.

The Faculty provides courses in many Specializations and Educational Programs for Bachelor’s degree: Special Education (Oligophrenopedagogics, Logopedics and Social psychology). The Faculty Study focuses on the Theoretical and practical Psychology, Social Work subjects and Social Welfare Programs: Social Assistance, Special Education (Oligophrenopedagogics and Logopedics), Special Education: Logopedics and Special Psychology, Social Welfare: Social Assistance.

The Faculty of Correctional Pedagogics and Psychology teaches students different forms of organization of education for children with disabilities, studies the essence, regulations, principles and methods of correctional education. The special educational programs focus on psychophysiological characteristics of children with disabilities, regularities of their training and education, especially for the special education of children with special needs and features of their development, the way of social adaptation and rehabilitation of such category of people.

The Faculty is also an important research institution whose personnel take part in many scientific conferences and panel thematic tables. Scientific teamwork is focused mainly on such basic researches: correctional pedagogy and pedagogics, social rehabilitation, development of the technology, a combination of methods, techniques and tools to correctional and pedagogical impact on the personality.
