‘Saving Biloboh’: A Ukrainian Literary Record with the Support of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism of K-PNU

The Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism of Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University took part in an event that has become a landmark for contemporary Ukrainian literature. The National Register of Records of Ukraine has recorded the first electronic collective patchwork novel written by children, ‘Saving Biloboh,’ which was worked on by 163 co-authors from different regions of Ukraine.

The organizer of this large-scale project was writer Serhii Batura, who managed to unite young creators around a shared artistic idea and implement a collective writing format that is unique in Ukraine.

The establishment of the literary record took place with the academic support of Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism, Borys Kovalenko. He organized presentations and discussions of the book at the university, provided informational support, and published a professional scholarly review.

The ‘Saving Biloboh’ project demonstrated that a book can be created collaboratively, when everyone invites, writes, and dreams together. The partnership with Ivan Ohiienko Kamianets-Podilskyi National University helped Serhii Batura’s initiative become a truly significant event in the field of children’s creative writing.

We congratulate the organizers, young authors, and everyone involved in the creation of the collective patchwork novel on setting a Ukrainian literary record, and we express our gratitude to the scholars of Ohiienko University for their contribution to the development of contemporary Ukrainian literature.
