
On November 21-22, 2025, a training session organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine and the National Support Organization for eTwinning (NSO – Ukraine) took place at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.
The event brought together representatives of Ukrainian universities involved in teacher training, as well as eTwinning ambassadors (school education and teacher training). The aim of the training was to strengthen cooperation between higher education and secondary education institutions, develop the institutional capacity of universities, and enhance the use of eTwinning and Erasmus+ tools for the modernization of teacher training.
The training participants were inspired by presentations from Svitlana KALASHNIKOVA, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Advisor to the Directorate of the Institute of Higher Education of NAES of Ukraine, member of the National Team of Higher Education Reform Experts, and eTwinning Coordinator in Ukraine; Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Project Coordinator, National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine; Ihor BALUBA, Head of the Expert Group on Qualifications System Development and Adult Education of the Directorate of Higher and Adult Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
During the event, academic staff from higher education institutions shared their achievements in implementing eTwinning/Erasmus+ initiatives. Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University was represented by Tetiana Storchova (Head of the Office for International Cooperation, Associate Professor of the Department of English, eTwinning Ambassador) and Tetiana Kalyniuk (Head of the Department of German Language, Associate Professor). They presented the university’s accomplishments: 6 eTwinning projects for the current calendar year, over 60 project participants in 9 specialties of pedagogical orientation at the bachelor’s and master’s levels, as well as a number of events, the eTwinning section on the website of the Office for International Cooperation, etc.
The event program covered key topics:
- specific features of implementing eTwinning and Erasmus+ projects and the role of universities in these processes;
- the development of critical thinking in the educational context;
- evaluation criteria for eTwinning projects in secondary schools and tools for improving teaching;
- the use of documentary film as a tool for fostering socially active individuals;
- the role of eTwinning in strengthening the institutional capacity of universities;
- preparation for CBHE/Erasmus+ project participation and team-building for proposal development;
- development of the National Network of Universities participating in the eTwinning/Erasmus+ Program for 2026–2027.
Participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss the challenges of modern education, and develop practical skills for implementing joint international initiatives within both eTwinning and the CBHE component of the EU Erasmus+ Program.
The event became an important step in strengthening the role of Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University in advancing international cooperation and promoting innovative approaches to teacher training.
