On February 6, the Youth Center of Kamianets-Podilskyi hosted another meeting of the “Speaking Ukrainian” club.
PhD in Philology, Associate Professor, and Head of the Department of Ukrainian Language Inna Berkeshchuk, alongside PhD in Philology and Associate Professor Nataliia Ladyniak, shared insights into the orthoepic norms of the Ukrainian literary language. They focused on the correct pronunciation of sounds and words, as well as how to avoid common mistakes.
Club members, including participants from the University of the Third Age at the Kamianets-Podilskyi Territorial Social Service Center “Turbota” under the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council, eagerly took part in the discussions. They read Ukrainian poetry aloud, expressed their thoughts in Ukrainian, and shared their experiences of learning the language.
They practiced pronunciation through tongue twisters and “Palianytsia” game cards, which not only improved their orthoepic skills but also brought plenty of smiles. The group also reflected on words that hold deep symbolic meaning for Ukrainians.
We invite everyone to join us in improving their Ukrainian and practicing conversation in a warm and friendly environment!
