Podillia as a vibrant part of our living heritage

On September 23, the Youth Centre of Kamianets-Podilskyi hosted an event called “Podillia – A Living Legacy.” The aim was to raise awareness about the role of women in the cultural and social history of Podillia, showcasing their life stories and achievements while connecting their heritage to the modern context.

The speakers included students from the Groups’ Educational and Research Institute: Kateryna Vasylynchuk (Ukr1-M24), Alina Kovalchuk (Ukr1-M24), Viktoriia Kompaniiets (FUkr1-M24), and Myroslava Husar (Ua1-B22). They highlighted the contributions of prominent women from Podillia to art, science, literature, and public life.

The students emphasized the life stories of women from Podillia whose creative and social contributions have been significant for the development of the region and the country.

The academic staff from the Department of Ukrainian Literature and Comparative Studies played an active role in organizing and facilitating the event, providing academic support and helping prepare materials. Their involvement enhanced the understanding of Podillia’s cultural heritage.

The event served as a platform to discuss the importance of preserving the legacies of these remarkable women and promoting their stories among today’s youth. Participants had a unique opportunity to discover lesser-known facts about the lives of women in Podillia.
