“Strong in Spirit: Stories of Sappers of the Russian-Ukrainian War”: presentation of the book dedicated to the Kruty Heroes Memorial Day
On the 106th anniversary of the Battle of Kruty, the presentation of the book “Strong in Spirit: Stories of Sappers of the Russian-Ukrainian War” took place at the Orynyn Lyceum.
This book is a memoir of Kamianets sapper soldiers of the A2641 military unit about their combat experience in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
One of the authors is Oleh Rarytskyi, Ph.D. of Philology, Professor of the Department of History of Ukrainian Literature and Comparative Studies at the K-PNU, now a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The reviewer of the publication was the Dean of the Faculty of History, Ph.D. of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Anatolii Hlushkovetskyi. Anatolii Leonidovych spoke about the role of oral history as a research tool; informed about the opportunities to master all the subtleties of the historian’s craft, develop one’s analytical skills while studying at the K-PNU, and revealed the advantages of professional implementation of the educational programs of the Faculty of History.
As part of the educational event dedicated to the Kruty Heroes Memorial Day, Oleh Anatoliiovych and the book’s heroes Mykola Bezborodov and Denys Frolov told about the history of the book’s creation, the intense daily service of sappers who selflessly defend Ukraine from Moscow’s aggression. Professor Oleh Rarytskyi also familiarized the students with the prospects of studying at the Institute of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism of the K-PNU and emphasized the importance of developing the Ukrainian language and literature.
Today, it is especially important not to forget the value of freedom and to remember that its acquisition requires great sacrifices and extraordinary courage.
We thank the Defenders, the teaching staff and students for an interesting, patriotic event. Glory to Ukraine!
