On November 23 and 24, 2023, the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Republic of Poland) hosted a meeting of the Council of Vice-Rectors’ for International Relations, Heads of International Offices from 56 Ukrainian universities.
The rich event program had become an effective platform for discussing internationalization strategies (tools, priorities, project management, challenges and risks, academic mobility, recognition of results and evaluation). Svitlana Shytikova, coordinator of the Erasmus+ National Office, presented current EU Program competitions open to Ukraine to the participants, and dr. Zofia Sawicka, Deputy Director of the NAWA program, spoke about the directions of academic exchange programs and support for the Ukrainian university community during the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Online meetings with Mykhailo Vinnytskyi, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, and Prof. Jerzy Woźnicki, President of the Polish Rectors Foundation.
Members of the newly created council of Ukrainian universities interactively worked out decisions on the main sections and types of universities’ international activities: Reforming the legislation of Ukraine, Internationalization strategy, Academic mobility, International projects, Cooperation with university alliances, International education (foreign students), Participation and representation in an international professional network.
