The principal task of the Faculty of Education is to train teachers for preschool education, primary school and for some special subjects at secondary school. The Faculty also trains Fine Arts, Decorative Arts and Restoration specialists.

In its teacher-training programs, the faculty is gradually introducing a BA/MA model. Graduates of the music and fine arts degree programs are also qualified to teach at basic art schools. More specifically, undergraduates are trained in the following areas:

Teachers for primary and for special subjects of secondary schools are trained for four courses. Successful graduates obtain the Master’s degree. Degree programs include courses on pedagogy and phycology, with the emphasis on the instruction in the mother tongue and a foreign language, mathematics, music, arts and natural science subjects.

The faculty also offers courses for those employed at various educational institutions and interested in broadening their qualification.
